We went to this restaurant after hearing so many stellar comments about how great it was. We must have gone on a "bad" day. We were given a tiny table in an area that was so dark we couldn't read the menu. The wait person very obligingly gave us another table & service was prompt & friendly. We ordered the beef bun & dip which was lovely but stone cold & so were the French fries. It was very disappointing & I doubt whether we will go back!
Yes, it seems far, but the drive out to Metchosin will be totally worth it once you sink your teeth into one of their juicy western style burgers. Their beef and chicken burger toppings are outstanding and unique. Like heat? Try their Screamin’ Beef Burger – they dip the entire patty in hot sauce and cover it with banana peppers. Looking for something a little out of the box? You can’t go wrong with their Reuby burger, which can best be described as the love-child of a burger and a Reuben sandwich.
If you have a car and are serious about pancakes, My Chosen Café is the place to go. Located out in Metchosin, the café serves up breakfast daily until 11am. They’re a little more country than rock n’ roll, but they certainly know what makes a good pancake. You can choose the standard golden stack of buttermilk hotcakes, or you can try something totally unique like their Pancake Sandwich.
