J.G. Sprague and Son Canning was founded in 1925 in Mountain View, Ontario, processing seasonal fruits and vegetables. In 1968, the name changed to Sprague Foods Limited and over the years expanded its production to include a variety of canned beans, soups, sauces, and desserts. A new focus was made on providing authentic international foods to the emerging ethnic companies in Toronto and Montreal. This experience was transferred into producing quality, innovative, authentic, international foods for private label as the demand for these products grew through the mainstream market.
