Who We Are
The founder of AMSOIL, Lieutenant Colonel Albert J. Amatuzio, had plenty of opportunities to see synthetic lubricants in operation as the commander of a jet fighter squadron. These lubricants are used only in jet engines, because of their exceptional capacity to decrease friction and wear on engine components, perform reliably at high-temperature extremes, and sustain vigorous and extended engine operation without chemical breakdown.
Recognizing that these similar advantages might be important in combustion engines, Amatuzio began significant study in the early 1960s. In 1972, he created and marketed commercially accessible synthetic oils under the name AMSOIL. From the start, it was evident that this unique invention would play a significant part in redefining the performance potential of modern machines and engines.
