I stopped in for pasta night with my fiancé and everything was lovely. The host and waitress were both very friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant and on the patio (we sat in both locations as I was a bit warm on the patio) was fun. Our drinks, appetizers and entrées all came exactly as expected and were delicious. If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time. We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short. The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant. Read more

I come here in this buffet restaurant so many times with friends because we just love the food selection and their great taste. To me, this was one of the best Chinese buffet restaurant in Ottawa with a fair meal price. It’s just sad to see this place close its doors permanently. I love this place. Best clubs in Ottawa. The atmosphere is a bit stale (sort of a dark old sports bar type of feel), and their prices are a bit on the high side, but their food is so darn good. My coworker and I split a Club platter (with extra garlic dressing) 2-3 times / month. Owners are very friendly! I was no a fan of their pizza, but that's just my personal taste. Read more
