We ordered delivery, which was a surprising $10. Guy on the phone had a bit of a language barrier, but he was nice.
First, the garlic bread. Not too impressed. I'm used to garlic bread coming on a thinner, more crispy bread. This was more like a fluffy loaf. Didn't taste any garlic, and just way too much bun over all. They were big servings though.
My husband had the Spaghetti with Meatballs. Not impressed on this dish either. He said the sauce tasted like it was either canned, or sitting around for a while. And the noodles tasted like they'd been sitting in the sauce too long and had absorbed the sauce. He normally loves spaghetti with meatballs, this dish he barely touched. Again though, huge helping.
I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with added mushrooms. I have definitely had better elsewhere. I have even made better myself. The noodles were too soft from being over cooked. I had hoped for al dente since this is an Italian restaurant. The sauce was bland. Overall, there was nothing to this dish that made me want to keep eating it.
I was very disappointed with this place after reading all the rave reviews. Maybe the pizza really is as good as people say, but based on the food we just ate, we will not be ordering from this place again. The only good thing about what we ordered is how much was served. I could probably make 3-4 meals out of one dish. But I would rather sacrifice serving size to get a great tasting meal that I don't mind spending a total of $46 on.
I went to Alfredo's for the first time today because of the rave reviews I have read and it did NOT disappoint! I tried the pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. The taste is authentic Italian and SO fresh! The sauce they use is delicious! Alfredo himself is so friendly and and kind. He makes you feel right at home! I just wish that there was more of a seating area since I live kind of far to come and get it for take-out (which is the main business they do). I would highly recommend Alfredo's Place to anyone who loves authentic Italian food!
We have ordered from here on numerous occasions, and have found this to be the best pizza not only on the Mountain, but all of Hamilton. We ordered thin crust, well done, with a variety of toppings, and we are always guaranteed the best pizza ever! We will never go anywhere else! The owner is incredible...truly the best! Absolutely nothing like the usual pizza chains. This is authentic!
Alfredo's Place is located in a part of Hamilton that is not that attractive. The entrance to the restaurant is not very promising, and there are only three tables, the rest of the square footage being occupied with a take-out window and the kitchen. To get to the washroom, one must walk through the work area.
That said, the food was well prepared and delicious. Portions were really generous and everything smelled and tasted wonderful. We had a lot left over to take home, and the hosts were very attentive, helping to save leftovers, etc. Good experience.
This pizza isn't even edible! I wouldn't even feed it to my dog... Literally!!! $35 for 2 large 3 topping pizza's which is expensive compared to everyone else and it will be going in the garbage. Over cooked, dry like cardboard, ingredients taste bad, sauce bad, hard nasty cheese, arrived cold. Please people don't waste your money. Its hard to make a pizza this bad. I seriously wonder where the good reviews came from... You couldn't pay me to eat this pizza!!!! Ps I'm only giving it one star because I have to :(
