It's the best Chinese food in town and in my opinion, beats all the other popular Chinese places in Hamilton (I've tried many places before this). I ordered take out and the guy on the phone was very friendly and explained all the specials to me and suggested a few items that were famous at the restaurant. He knew what he was talking about! He advised me to come for pick up to save additional 10% off my bill and when I came to pick up the food, he not only opened the door for me as I was on my way out, but he volunteered to bring my box of food into my car! Talk about exceptional service! If you want good food, come to South Sea. If you want exceptional service, come to South Sea. The quality and their huge portions are second to no other Chinese restaurant in the area. I give it 5 stars.
I've been eating from South Sea for almost 23 years. I go there at least once or twice a week for lunch because the food is always fresh, not greasy, and delicious with outstanding service (Elaine the waitress is simply a piece of eyecandy with a cute bubbly sense of humour). Very huge portions and their lunch specials are great bargains. I can spend about $6 to $7 and be completely full. Nice newly renovated washrooms. The restaurant is extremely busy during lunch hours but I usually get food on my table in about 5 minutes. I've tried other restaurants for lunch over the years and hands down I put South Sea as number #1.
I go to South Sea all the time for take-out. Call ahead and they will have it ready for you. No one can beat their low prices (around $6 and you get TONNES of food). Kitchen soups are served in 2 containers and you get so much stuff in them. Dry garlic ribs are the BEST, I think they delicately cook them to make them so tender. You gotta try South Sea. Their dining room is always packed but luckily they have take out as well and delivery.
Absolutely remarkable and superior service. If you want true care and courteousness, you must come here!!! Huge portions, and they use very elegant glassware and chinaware. You must try their lemon jasmine iced tea!
